IET Brunei
had a technical visit to the Department
of Water Services on 28th February 2009
and was attended by persons from
vocational schools, Mindef, consultants
and private sector. The visit started
with a briefing of the department’s
objectives and vision followed by a
visit to the telemetry control centre
and operation control centre.
The visit learned about the operation of
the telemetry control centre where the
water reservoir levels and equipment
status are monitored. The operations
control centre is manned 24/7 and acts
on calls from the public and strives to
resolve the issues within minimum
stipulated times. The IET visitors
gained an insight of the efforts by the
department to achieve the mission of
providing clean, safe, affordable and
continuous water supply to the people of
Brunei Darussalam.
