Michael Kwok, the Sales and Training
Manager, Asia Pacific, Publishing and
Inspec was in Brunei for the second time
to demonstrate the features of Inspec
Direct at the Universiti Brunei
Darussalam and Institut Teknologi
Brunei. The presentation at ITB was
attended by library and academic staff,
while the presentation at UBD was
attended by library staff from different
sections including acquisition and
training. Appreciating the value of the
research tool, both institutions will
subscribe to the trial of Inspec Direct.
The trial will allow researchers in both
institutions to explore the features and
quality of the database.
In addition to the demonstration at ITB
and UBD, Michael delivered a
presentation on the IET and its
publications to about 30 engineering
officers and technical instructors at
the Ministry of Defense. The
presentation was held at the new MINDEF
Library & Info Centre on second day of
his visit. The MINDEF Library & Info
Centre stocks over 20,000 books and
journal articles encompassing wide range
of subject matters including warfare,
weapons, strategies, management, policy
making, history and world facts.
During the presentation, Michael Kwok
presented the benefits of IET
membership, professional registration
and later focused on the powerful
research tool from IET, the Inspec
